PEMF: The future of wellness therapy:
What is PEMF?
PEMF (Pulsated Electro Magnetic Field) therapy has been used for centuries in various forms and was researched notably by Nikola Tesla and NASA. Only recently has the benefits of PEMF therapy started to gain popularity, receiving the support of respected members of the scientific community such as Dr. Oz and double Nobel Prize winner Dr. Linus Pauling.
“PEMF is a benefit for Mankind from infant to the geriatric. PEMF will lead to a change in the paradigm of medicine” – Dr. Linus Pauling
PEMF therapy involves directing pulsed energy waves towards a certain area in the body (or the whole body) to increase the spin of electrons. In turn, the amplified electrons stimulate healing by restoring the cells potential energy.
How can PEMF therapy help you?
The human body is composed of around 37 trillion cells and sometimes, the cells lose energy due to overuse, damage or age. This can open the door for a variety of health issues, because your body is only as healthy as its cells.
PEMF therapy is aimed at recharging depleted cells to stimulate healing of ailments and increase your overall state of wellness. PEMF therapy has already been FDA approved to fuse bones and has been cleared to reduce swelling and joint pain with certain devices. It is being used by countless Olympic teams and sports trainers for its pain relief and rapid recovery attributes.
Why Dr. Oz believes PEMF therapy is a “Revolutionary Cure for Pain”
Essentials from the video:
- Humans are electrical beings filled with positive and negative ions.
- PEMF therapy focuses on adding negative ions and breaking up bunched blood cells to improve circulation and stimulate healing
- PEMF is a potential alternative to pain medication, surgeries and injections for chronic pain patients, who make up around 1/3 of the American population
- Case study: A police officer with chronic back pain was cured using a PEMF mat when no other therapy or medical treatment was working
- Pregnant women and people using pacemakers should not use a PEMF therapy device
PEMF Mat Products: Do they work?
A PEMF mat is a portable mat that produces pulsed electromagnetic fields most commonly through the heating of copper coils located inside the mat. This field then stimulates healing by producing negative ions and far infrared waves.
Negative ions emitted from the mat are especially important to counteract the negative effects of increased exposure to electromagnetic fields from computers, cellphones, and cell towers, which cause positive ion emission into our bodies. To read more about the negative effects of positive ions, and how negative ions can help.
So, do PEMF mats work? They have been proven to provide a variety of health benefits through hundreds of trials and have been linked to potentially aiding with diseases such as Arthritis and Osteoporosis. As a new technology, it is still being extensively researched and developed, but has already proven to be extremely beneficial for a variety of users.

How to get the most out of your PEMF mat: An owner’s guide
Congratulations! You’ve made a large investment in yourself and are on the path to improving your overall health and wellness. Once you have a mat, there are certain procedures and accessories you can use to enhance your experience and increase the benefits from every mat session.
Starting Up Your Mat
After plugging in your mat, turn up the temperature (initially) to max (or near max) temperature for 10 minutes to warm the mat. After 10 minutes, reduce the temperature to a lower, desired temperature and once the mat reaches that temperature, lie down on the PEMF mat and begin your mat session. Initially turning up the mat to max temperature allows the copper coils in the mat to become fully heated/activated, thus releasing more PEMF.
Your Mat sessions
Lie on the PEMF mat for approximately 30 minutes a day if possible, to maximize your benefit from the sessions. You can always split the 30 minutes into smaller time periods (ex. 15 minutes, 2 times a day) if you cannot stay on the mat for that time. Spending 30 minutes a day on the mat will allow your body to receive adequate exposure to negative ions which will counteract the positive ions you have around you from everyday electronic activities. Every mat is made differently. This instruction is just a general guideline. Follow the recommendations on the instructions for your PEMF mat for optimal results.
Many PEMF mats come with other therapies programmed into the mat. If your mat has more than one therapy, try not to enable all the therapies at once. Instead, experiment by enabling 1-2 therapies every 3 days (ex. With a top of the line 5 therapy mat ). By enabling therapies gradually, your body will have time to adapt to the different waves passing through it, which will result in a more positive healing experience.
PEMF Mats and Water
Make sure you drink plenty of water around the time of your mat session. During the session, you will be exposed to a considerable amount of heat (nothing uncomfortable, but still a fair amount). This heat can leave your body dehydrated, so it is vital to drink enough water before and after each mat session. We recommend Alkaline filtered water over tap water, as purified alkaline water is free of toxins and provides exponentially more benefits when compared to tap water. From all the water purification systems we have tried (AmWell, Kangen, Brita etc.), the Cerra water system stands out as the premier water filtration system.
